Arizona find success and get back on their feet.
“I entered the program with a drug habit; I left with hope, happiness and a will to stay sober.”
Clients who enter the RCBM Program (Residential Community Behavior Modification) are already at risk of re-incarceration as they have broken the terms of their parole. If a bed is available, they may be offered the option of coming into this outpatient drug and alcohol treatment program for a maximum of 90 days.
The focus of this work is support towards behavior change linked to offending and substance misuse, keeping people safe and engaged in treatment, and encouraging joint working with a wide variety of partners depending on individual client needs.
Referrals for the RCBM Program
Clients will have ongoing contact with the criminal justice system and have multiple complex needs characterized by one or more of the following:
- In breach of parole conditions
- Entrenched in their alcohol/substance use
- Have mental or physical health problems
- Experiencing homelessness or sofa-surfing
- ‘Revolving Door’ in and out of prison or jail
Types of referrals we accept
- In prison – the case manager (CPO or COIII) will initiate the application process. Typically, 6 months prior to release.
- Direct referral by Re-entry officer – various programs – ask about coming to ViVRE.
- Self-referrals are possible.
Outpatient Drug & Alcohol Treatment for those Who Have Been Involved in the Justice System
Each client works intensively with our Case Management Team when they enter the program; with the focus on reducing recidivism and homelessness, while increasing engagement and work opportunities with support services.
Our clinical staff are trained in a range of short-term and long-term techniques including (CBT) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, (MI) Motivational Interviewing, Supportive Therapy and coaching on specific problems such as trauma, depression, anxiety, stressful life events, and family or relationship problems.
These services, combined with case management, work together to facilitate the most effective recovery at the outpatient level; working with peers and professionals, a client can work on their own personal recovery journey.
This level of care allows for people to balance life and recovery.
There are no formal treatment services mandated, but attendance at a support group such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), or similar are required for our residential drug treatment program. Compliance with the house rules, no drugs or alcohol on site, paying rent on time, curfew, random UA’s, attending house meetings, and participating in house chores is required.
Axiom Care has a 3-phase system in place to help get clients established, obtain employment and eventually transition into a more permanent home. All clients are welcome to connect with our case managers who can assist with work opportunities, getting connected to local health services, and community resources.
